POLANSKY
(Kostolany x Donnerhall x U1ft x Roemer)

Big, black and beautiful, are only a few points on this stallion's resume. Polansky's pedigree reads like a dressage dream, carrying no less than four generations of proven dressage blood. Kostolany (sire of Gribaldi), Ulft (sire of Ferro), Roemer and Donnerhall - quite a lineup of indisputable talent!

Polansky is a son of the Trakehner performance test champion Kostolany, himself a Grand Prix competitor. Kostolany is the sire of many approved stallions including Gribaldi (sire of Anky van Grunsven's Painted Black), Bertone, Showmaster, Silvermoon, Toltoi, Sans Souci and Polansky. The famous mare Kasette forms the basis of Kostolany's dam line and products of this line include the Olympic Dressage horse lmmanuel (Munich 1972) as well as the Trakehner progenitors Kapitan and Kassius.

UPDATE: Kostolany, sire of Polansky, has just been named "Trakehner Stallion of the Year, 2009" This reflects the superb sport results of his grandson Totilas, (sired by Gribaldi) who set incredible new world records this year -- what a fantastic sport horse line this is!

The dam of Polansky is the keur sport dressage mare, Lonnevanck by the legendary Donnerhall. True to her heritage, at a mere 6 years of age, Lonnevanck was performing at 4th level. Her mother, Fanbonnevanck, was a preferent mare by Ulft, the sire of Olympic Ferro. At the Borculo auction in 1999, the most expensive colt sold was out of Fanbonnevanck. Polansky clearly comes from a top producing and performing mareline.

Polansky was the convincing champion of the KWPN stallion competition in 2002 and was also the winner of the KWPN stallion competitions in 2003 at both Hengelo and Weert. He has sired two promising young stallions approved by the KWPN, Upper Class (Polansky x Doruto) and Vivaldo (Polansky x Montecristo).

Polansky is the proverbial tall, dark and handsome stallion, jet black and 17HH. His character and willingness to work are very good, and he passes on extreme movement to his progeny. His foal report boasted a very uniform collection of offspring, with a good rectangular model, beautiful fronts, and long necks. His 2004 dressage index was an impressive 161. Polansky -- a stallion with talent, a very solid pedigree and striking looks!
