Approved: KWPN, Hanoverian, RPSI, Westfalen, Oldenburg, Born: March 1, 1993, Color: Dark Bay, Height: 170cm (16-3 hands)
Lancet’s career took a rapid turn to stardom when he was chosen to go to
the Olympics in Athens when a previous horse was injured on the team.
Having only performed a Grand Prix test a few times with his new
young rider, Marlies van Balen, they went on to a remarkable debut
performance. Lancet again competed in the Olympics in Bejing,
finishing 7th overall. His rider and owner Emma Hindle, who was
recovering from cancer surgery just weeks before the competition, still
managed to put up the performance of her life at the games. At the 2008
CDI London Olympia Horse Show, the Dressage Horse of the Year
Award was given to Lancet. Lancet currently competes with Emma
Handle and stands at Brookhouse stud in England. He is a proven
international competitor and producer of top quality sport horses.
Lancet was approved as a 3 year old by the KWPN studbook. At the 100
day test he got: walk: 8 trot: 8 canter: 8.5 and suitability as a
dressagehorse : 8.5 After his approval for the KWPN, he won the
dressage competition for KWPN stallions at L and at M level in 2
consecutive years.
Lancet descends from a valuable, exemplary combination of bloodlines
from the legendary Hanoverian Breeding Station Stedebergen: Wenzel I
x Shogun xx. The sire of Lancet is Wenzel I ( Wörmann x Matador)
who is on the top ranking of dressage bloodlines. Out of this Wbloodline
are the Grand –Prix dressage horses Welcome ( World Cup 1 x
Grande) and Weyden (Western Star x Grande). His pedigree is further
exceptional because of a first class dam line. His grand dam Anika is a
full sister to Argentan I (Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 1994) and
Argentan II. Argentan I is well known as the father of the famous
Oldenburg stallion Argentinus. They represent the same line as DLGChampion
mare Goldlady, who is the queen at multiple elite mare
shows. Her sons Frenchman I and Frenchman II are highly asked for
sires. In Holstein, this Mare Family carries the number 8777 and also
produced the top class half brother Calvin Z, Lansing, and the shining
star Cantus, who are all outstanding jumper sires.
The offspring of Lancet have proven very successful. They are very
good dressage horses who also tend to have good jumping ability. A son
of Lancet : Patron ( Lancet x Dageraad x Ubis) became the winner of the
VSN (Vereniging Sportpaarden Nederland) Patron was awarded the
terrific score of 9 under saddle!
In 2002 a total of 10 offspring of the stallion Lancet got to the semifinals
of the Pavo Cup (a dressage competition for 4 and 5 year old
horses) in Ermelo ( Netherlands). At the national stallion inspection of
the KWPN studbook in Den Bosch (Netherlands) in 2003 a son of
Lancet : Tango (Lancet x Michelangelo) was selected for the 2nd ring.
His son Uzzo became World Champion in 5-year olds in World
Championships Young Dressage Horses with Patrick van der Meer.
2007 Five Victories on the international circuit out of 8 competitions!
Lancet - a performing Grand Prix Olympic stallion He produces a
