Uphill, you're the man! In a word, we LOVE Fanta! She is a big girl, with lots of bone, a nice rectangular build and terrific conformation. Fanta shows rich development for her age. She is extremely kind and laid back, which was so much appreciated as she got off to a bit of a rough start. Clumsy Mom stepped on her left hind pastern and injured her at Day 4, so poor Fanta has had to have daily bandaging and wasn't allowed out of her stall until 6 weeks of age. But good girl that she is, she took it all in stride. After a few days of the bandaging routine, she would just lay there and let me do it, a very trusting baby. Like her dam, Fanta loves people and attention, and will stand forever to be brushed and fussed over.

Now that the bandages are off, and she has been out for a couple of weeks, Fanta is rapidly becoming stronger. Finally we are getting to see the results of this cross and wow, it's been worth the wait! Her movement is effortless, and forgive the pun, but naturally uphill is the best way to describe it. She has a big overtrack at the walk, and her trot shows tons of impulsion and lift. This is one we will be keeping to round out the roster of great mares that we have here. Fillies like this just don't come along every day, so cramped for space as we are, somehow we will make room for this special filly.

We are thrilled to be the ones to have the very first Uphill foal in North America, but I'm sure she will not be the last!
