CHIN CHIN
Constant x Farnese

Chin Chin was an exceptional show-jumping stallion. His willing and forgiving character, combined with an undeniable jumping talent, were huge factors in his international success. These attributes are passed through to his offspring. It is often said that there is something magical about a Chin Chin foal -- they truly stand out in a crowd!

Chin Chin and his rider Jaime Azcarraga from Mexico, competed for more than five years at the international level. They achieved amazing success in the show ring, despite the fact that Jaime was himself an amateur rider!

In 1988 Chin Chin won FIVE consecutive times in the North American League on the World Cup circuit and competed in Seoul at the Olympic Games where he placed sixth individually. Four years later, he competed at a second Olympic Games in Barcelona! In 1989 and 1990, he was placed in the final of the World Cup in Both Dortmund and Tampa. In 1990, Chin Chin and Jaime Azcarraga competed in the first edition of the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm.

The offspring of Chin Chin really make the dream of their pedigree come true. For example, Ta Belle van Sombeke won the Grand Prix of Saint Tropez and Zuidlaren, Triomph de Muze won the Grand Prix of Lons le Saunier and Tedechine Sept placed several times in Grand Prix with Eddie Macken. Other successful offspring are Querly Chin, Phin Phin, Tolano van't Riethof and Riot Gun van de Padenborre. Three daughters were selected in 2006 for the National Free Jumping Championship -- daughter Welena VDL became National Champion of free jumping, and the reserve champion was also a daughter of Chin Chin. In the National Championship of 3-year old mares the 2nd, 3rd and 7th places were for daughters of Chin Chin. Recently his young sons are receiving recognition by the KWPN and several have been approved for breeding.

Once again, the blood of Cor de la Bryere and Farnese prove their worth. Although sadly Chin Chin passed away in 2007, his influence on Dutch breeding will continue through his offspring for generations to come.
